We often accept things without questioning them. I believe that this is the reason for plenty of ignorance in the world. We accept everything the people around us say, and we think just like they think without questioning the root of certain beliefs.

Hence, if a parent is racist; often, the child accepts that way of thinking without challenge. But when the child goes out into the world, he/she gets knowledge that disproves what he/she was taught is incorrect.

if we keep ourselves in this shell of 'everything I think and do is correct' or 'everything my family and friends say is correct, it leads to trouble.

Later in life, you find yourself wondering why it is you believe in these things. When you find that there is no reason to back up what you've known for so long, you feel lost.

However, be careful of confirmation bias: Choosing the information that confirms your belief, while ignoring contradictory evidence.

Go on a journey of discovery for yourself. People give good advice and bad advice, Listen, and then make the choice for yourself whether to accept it.
