Lesson 14- Do this, Do that.

I have watched countless YouTube videos, read countless stories and articles, and read several books regarding self-help. These include how to live, what makes a good life, what to do in certain situations.

Basically, I try to get as much advice as I can about life in general, and how to live a good life.

For example: When I turned 20, I read several blog posts about people's regrets in their 20s to see what I should avoid. I have watched Ted talks about how to have good conversations, and psychology videos that tell me what to say when another is hurting.

Once again, it is to do with my obsession with trying to live the 'perfect' life, which I am failing miserably at.

I cannot live a perfect life. I will not have the perfect response when a friend goes through trouble. I will not always make the right decision no matter how many self-help books I read.

I realize that I should simply read what the Bible says about it, pray, ask a few wise people what they think, think a bit and make a decision. Realize that you are brave enough to deal with the consequences of your decisions.

Thinking about it, perhaps the most valuable lessons from self-help books, are Biblical lessons that have been practically applied.

Maybe that is all I need: to carry Biblical teaching in my heart and try to live as authentically as possible. That's the best game plan.
