Cry, cry, cry baby.

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

I don't like to cry in front of people. Some people see it as a sign of weakness. When I cry in front of people, I cringe at how I came across as weak or perhaps immature?

However, that's not the case.

I have been told many times, "Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength."

It's true.

Crying is a way of allowing yourself to feel something, to acknowledge the pain. In other cases, it's the beginning of healing. It's not the only way to heal, but for some people , it's a start.

So, if you've ever cried in front of people and you look back and cringe, rather look back and be proud. Be proud of the fact that while other people internalise issues and feelings, you had the courage to show what was inside. It takes bravery to confront that which hides inside, and to show your emotions to the world, and to the ones closest to you.

Some say that crying is like washing the front screen of your car, it makes you see better afterwards. Others say crying is like rain, that it is to prepare for a rainbow.

A cry is step closer towards healing, but don't stay there.

Get back up and continue to live a good life.

With love

YANA
