Change will always be present. From matric to university, the bridge in between is often filled with much anxiety, fear and also excitement! You expect one thing and get another. You end up feeling disappointed and dejected. But, if there is one thing that Lumkile, Mariam and Lethabo have taught me, is that it is not the end. Failure is not the end. When you find yourself in a pit, it will not be for long. Soon, you will come up and it will be light.
I learnt that comparison destroys. It does nothing to build you up. Focus on your journey, on where you are going and walk that path. Remember that life has no deadlines. Of course, society acts like there are, but there aren't. Each call has an appointed time, and there is a season for the purpose to be realised and fulfilled. You aren't running late.
One of the few guarantees in life is that change will come. But one thing to remember is that change is survivable. In fact, change is what leads to growth, development and inspiring stories. It is what is needed to trigger the fight in you so that resilience emerges. Remember to cry, to grieve and to feel emotion. Thereafter, do not forget to rise. Surround yourself with those who love you, and be encouraged by their words.
You've got what it takes. And if you feel you don't, God will lead you all the way.
