Clean carpet

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

Imagine walking into a house, and you are not allowed to touch anything. The couches are covered in plastic to prevent damage. The glass table is never used, this is done to prevent any marks or scratches. Children are told to sit still, or rather to go play outside. The carpets are expensive, so you better not step on them with dirty shoes.

Oh, the worst, don't break anything. I repeat: DO NOT break anything.

As a child, you wouldn't like living here. A world that revolved around materialism rather than a sense of freedom. It would feel as if you were walking on eggshells, trying not to mess up.

Parents have conveyed that one of their biggest regrets was wanting 'clean carpet'. This means, constantly wanting a clean house, not wanting any mess-ups, or spills.

Take this story any way you wish.

All I'm saying is, there's more to life than material stuff. There's more to life than NOT doing something because you'll get mud on your clothes, or your hair will get wet.
